Old-Fashioned Peach Buckle (Cobbler)

Buckle or Crumble – Is a type of cake made in a single layer with berries added to the batter. It is usually made with blueberries. The topping is similar to a streusel, which gives it a buckled or crumpled appearance.

So, this one's probably my favorite peach cobbler style. It's simple and doesn't require much work. Traditionally, a buckle involves a fruit filling poured over-top a layer of batter. When baked, the batter rises above the fruit and offers a perfectly luscious cakey/bread like "crust".

For the filling, fix it up how you'd like -adding more cinnamon or nutmeg, etc. The batter, however, shouldn't be altered too much. Serve this sucka up with ice cream and it's a done deal.
